The role of a content writer in digital marketing – part 1

SEO Optimization Content Writer

Content writing for SEO optimization

Hi Lovies, how are you?

Today we’ll be discussing the role of a content writer in digital marketing.  Believe it or not, but a content writer does not only specialise in providing relevant content for websites – there is a lot more to them than we think.  They’ve got to open up their minds to new skills like learning how to use Organic SEO optimization and applying the skills that they have learnt in their English classes for digital marketing.

So what is their role in digital marketing?

To generate their content and make sure that it can be easily found on “Google”

They put in specific keywords and use Organic SEO optimization to make sure that their content can be easily found.

They bring content that is smart in its use of keywords, or is focused on organic search engine optimization (SEO) – meaning that their content contains relevant keywords and phrases that are most likely to be entered in web searches associated with the actual site for better search engine indexing and ranking.

To be editors

Yes, I know that almost anyone can easily do a spell check but a good content writer goes through their work at least 2-3 times to make sure that their content can be easily understood and that it stands out from other people’s work. Remember that writing has different styles and forms e.g. a blog could be personal and opinionated while news is short and formal. A good content writer will learn to master different writing skills and different uses of tones to make sure their content is valuable and fits the type of content they are writing. They make sure that their content is readable, that good punctuation is used, and the general layout is correct.

They also have to learn how apply SEO principles, and make use of their HTML and CSS skills.

Search engine algorithms are constantly changing; writers must therefore ensure they keep up with these changes to stay abreast of the competition.

High quality content is always in demand. Content writers should always ensure they write in-depth content from a unique perspective. They should also understand the value of a great headline, appropriate keyword density, and keep up with current Organic SEO best practices to ensure that the methods they use are the most effective for their content.

To become researchers

Content writing is all about research.

Before any content writer starts writing, they must first conduct research to improve their knowledge about the subject, as more often than not, they are requested to write on a topic they are unfamiliar with. By broadening their knowledge of the topic, they usually get more ideas to write about to be able to write content that readers will be interested in. It is imperative that whatever they write, does not contradict the company’s existing message.

They also have to check for competition to see who else is writing about the same topic and how they came about with it to make sure that their work stands out for the people they are marketing for.

That’s it, we’re done … well halfway done that is. Stay tuned for the next post which will give you some more essential roles of a content writer.

Hopefully you’re one step closer to being a great content writer.

Remember everyone can open up their computer and start writing but a good content writer opens up to more knowledge and tries by all means to be flexible to any idea.

They use different styles of writing and use words that will entice their readers and get their attention.

Can you add to the list?
